Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, that all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are our final authority and necessary for faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Proverbs 30:5-6; John 17:17

God

We believe there is only one God, and He has chosen to reveal Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1-3; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 6:3; 45:21-22; John 4:24; Matthew 1:18-25; 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Man

We believe that God miraculously created all things and made man in His image. The sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and man, and causing every person to be born in sin.

Romans 1:20; Hebrews 3:4; Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:9-23; 5:12-19

Jesus Christ

We believe the only way a person can have a true, forgiven relationship with God is through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. His blood was a substitutionary atonement for sin, so that all who believe will have eternal life. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Our right standing with God is made sure because of His literal, physical resurrection.

Mark 10:45; John 3:16; Romans 4:25, Philippians 2:6-7; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 4:10

Salvation

We believe that God offers eternal life as a free gift and that it must be received by repenting of sin through faith alone through God’s grace alone. All who are truly saved will remain so for eternity.

Acts 3:19-20; 2 Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; John 8:31; Philippians 1:6; 2:12-13; Jude 24-25; 1 John 2:19

The Church

We believe that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local body of believers on mission to obey His commands to glorify Him by making disciples.

Acts 2:41-42, 47; Matthew 18:17; 1 Corinthians 5:12-13; Matthew 28:18-20

Ordinances

We believe that believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the church.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 41; 8:36-39; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

End Times

We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:20-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Philippians 3:20-21
